Octave Day of Christmas. World Day of Peace - 1 January 2020

Pope Francis Message for the 53rd World Day of Peace describes peace as a journey of hope to be undertaken in a spirit of dialogue, reconciliation and ecological conversion. Read the Pope's full message here.

The pope concludes his address inspiring all peoples to become 'artisans of justice and peace.'

"The grace of God our Father is bestowed as unconditional love. Having received his forgiveness in Christ, we can set out to offer that peace to the men and women of our time. Day by day the Holy Spirit prompts in us ways of thinking and speaking that can make us artisans of justice and peace."

The Octave Day of Christmas is also the Solemnity of Mary, the Holy Mother of God.

The Lord bless you and keep you
The Lord let his face shine upon you,
And be gracious to you.
The Lord look upon you kindly
And give you peace!
